The designer herself - Galia Lahav - was in the Manhattan store when I was trying on the dress for alterations and she assisted the tailor in custom fitting the dress (see photo)! I must have tried on 80 wedding dresses and my last stop was Galia Lahav where I tried on the Utopia and fell in love! When you know, you know!

The Utopia gown by Galia Lahav Couture is a dropped waist ballgown of your dreams. The elongated corset starts with a deep sweetheart neckline and exposed boning. The corset is designed in a way that made my waist look so small. The bottom of the corset is shaped to make both your torso and your legs look as long and tall as possible. The 3d embroidered appliqués from the bodice to the hem are reminiscent of delicate petals. The tulle ballgown skirt shape starts closer to your body so it doesn't add too much volume but is fuller towards the bottom of the skirt. The extended royal length train is fit for a queen and has a bustle installed for you to make dancing in the dress easy and comfortable!


Description from Galia Lahav: A whimsical and light ball gown, the Utopia features a sheer, strapless sweetheart neckline corset and pleated skirt with 3D embroidered appliques cascading from the bodice to the hem. The intricate embroidered tulle and floral embellishments on the bodice are an absolute masterpiece.

Galia Lahav couture bridal dresses are custom-sized to fit the bride. This beautiful dress fits standard US size 6-8 with room for alterations to size down if you desire. The measurements taken at the New York City Galia Lahav showroom are:

Bra size DD cup 
Bust over all 98 cm 38.5”
Waist 79 cm 29.5”
 Lower hip 102 cm 40”
Upper hip 84 cm 33”
 Waist to floor is 128 cm 50.4” (I’m 5’11” and wore a 2 inch heel).

I am including, at no extra charge, the Cathedral length, magnificent 11 foot long raw edge white veil (3.4 meters) which retails for $750.

Alterations

Removed crinoline/petticoat in the skirt.
Added lining in skirt with two layers of ivory organza so it is not see through and added cups. Stunning 11 foot long trimmed raw edge veil (3.5 meters/138 inches) 3 inches to become a 3.4 meters/135 inches veil. I added a bustle which is comfortable and makes it very easy to dance in after your ceremony. Also, I tried on different cup sizes so you can alter the dress with cups that fit your preference.
