The Dress

My Purchase
I bought this Galia Lahav - Gala 201 back in 2019, right before the pandemic hit. It was made-to-order in 2020 but when I picked it up, I still had to wait 2 more years before I could wear it. It was oh so worth it! I adore this dress. It is made from antique Italian Lace, and is fully decorated with beads.

The fit
This is a mermaid style dress and therefore tight fitting but not uncomfortable. It hugs you in all the right places, and I even had my wedding dinner(sitting down for hours) in it!
The look is super romantic, classy and feminine. It took me a good year to finally decide to place it on Stillwhite.com to sell it.

The dress on my wedding day
I have worn my dress only on my wedding day which all in all was about 6 hours. We decided to elope so we did not have a full day of walking/reception etc. I put on my dress, took some pre wedding pictures, said my vows and kissed (lol), went for dinner, done!
I was very careful with my dress but some of the tiny beads did not make it back to my hotel.

Condition
The dress has been professionally dry cleaned by hand because of the antique lace and beads.
The dress comes with the original Galia hanger. It is currently stored in a no-brand, clean garment bag but the Galia garment bag will come with the dress too (please note, the Galia garment bag does have some dirt on it).
This gown has no holes, rips or broken zippers/buttons. It really looks as new. However, like I mentioned, some of the small beads did not make it. It is very hard to tell when you're wearing the dress.

Alterations

- Soft pads were added to cups for a fuller/push up effect. These can be easily removed.
- An invisible bustle added to fasten the train to the rest of the dress for dancing and moving around.
- Hidden snap buttons to hold the lace in place that covers the zipper in the back.
