The Dress

Wore this dress to a small wedding and house party. The only time it was danced in was the first dance, as the reception was more social and calm. The dress is in perfect condition. Not a single stain or tear.

The dress was made on my curvy measurements (5"5", D cup, and size 4/6 lower half). I weighed about 131 lbs in the photo.

This dress was custom built for me at Rebecca Schoneveld's shop in Brooklyn, NY. Schoneveld offers multiple skirt and top options that can be created as one piece. So this dress was originally two skirts, a spaghetti strap bodice, and a V-neck mesh overlay that was hand-beaded with hand-made ivory and silver beads. The mesh/beaded overlay was $2000 alone, making up half of the cost of the entire dress without alterations. In person, the ivory color melts into pale skin like butter; I really felt this dress was part of my body. It's conservative with a little flash of cleavage. It also holds a lot of body heat thanks to the two layers of tops and skirt, so you will be warm if you wear it in cooler temperatures. I do not recommend for a warmer temperature wedding - you will die of heat. The layered skirts make beautiful lines when you dance.
