The Dress

I brought this dress new from Astra Bridal in Wellington in December 2016.

The dress is a Rebecca Ingram design, that features a subtle sweetheart neckline and layers of floral lace appliques and dotted tulle. This romantic take on the classic A line style is very flattering (and completely hid my violin shaped hips) as it is fitted with corset closure and supportive boning in the bodice.

The dress is still it's original length. I am 168 cm tall and wore 3 1/4 inch heels.

Some alterations were made to the bodice which reduced the dress to a size 8 in places. However I do not wear size 8 in street style clothes so I would say the label size of 10 is still accurate. These were done by a professional dressmaker and are unnoticeable. My measurements are bust 90cm, waist 70cm, and hips 92cm. There is flexibility around bust and waist area due to the way the dress ties up. Hips needs to be similar.

Dressmaker added a button so that the train of the dress can be hooked up, which added functionality to the dress.

The bottom of the dress got muddy however I have had the dress dry cleaned and all evidence of that is gone, except for a very slight discolouring on the bottom 1 cm of the train.
