The Dress
This dress is a very small 14 so it would suit a size 12. I guess with the corset style back there is some "give and take" ie. I normally wear 14 on the top half but I'm size 12 in skirts & trousers.
This dress is very flattering, particularly around the waist and stomach area. It enhances curves and yet my stomach looked really flat so I was super pleased about that. I think the "bling" features are also flattering as they only run down the outer sides of the dress not the central area of the body.
It didn't have the little sleeves when I first tried it on. It was just a simple sweetheart neckline and completely strapless. I chose to add them as it made the dress look more feminine and it suited my body shape as I'm quite broad and have a strong upper body. They could be very easily removed again if you wanted to go back to strapless.
The only other change I made was to remove a layer of petticoat from underneath as I felt it was just too full.
