The Dress

This is the stunning 'Madelyn' gown from Australian demi-couture wedding dress designer, Karen Willis Holmes. It was made to order in December 2012 by Karen's design studio in Sydney.

It was purchased for $3495 and has only been worn once at my wedding in February. It has since been professionally drycleaned and is being stored in an archival box ($300 value). A KWH dress bag is included.

It features a twisted and ruched georgette silk bodice fitted to waist with a tulle circle skirt. It is so flattering, and incredibly comfortable to wear. It is not heavy at all since the skirt is made of layers of beautiful, soft, floaty tulle. I had so much fun swishing around in this dress!

I am also including the diamante belt I wore with my dress - these are sold in bridal stores for $400+.

The dress is size 14 - 16. I'm 1.63m tall and wore 2.5 inch heels (the dress touched the floor).

It can be worn with or without a petticoat to change the fullness of the skirt. I wore it with a small petticoat.

This was my dream wedding dress and I wish I could keep it... but I can't really justify storing it in a dark closet for years to come!!
