The Dress

Oh how I loved my wedding dress... I will be sad to part with it but it does make me happy knowing this dress will be part of someone else's special day.

I bought this dress in December 2016 at Annabel's Bridal Studio in Canberra. I was married in it in April 2017 in Mauritius. The dress is called 'Alaska' and is from the Emmanuel Collection, by Peter Trends. It has a low back, straps with a wave-like detail, it hugs your figure in all the right places, drops from just above the knee and has a gorgeous train to follow. I tried on several dresses and chose this dress because of 2 main reasons. Firstly, I couldn't believe how comfortable it was and how good it felt when I put it on. Secondly, as I was getting married near the beach, with a reception at a Yacht Club I thought this dress had a relaxed feel to it, whilst still making me feel like a bride.

The shop assistant called the colour of this dress 'mushroom', as underneath the lace layer there is a darker almost mocha colour. As you will see from the photos the dress does look white but because of this layer it has a darker look to it. I've tried to capture the different layers to the dress in the pics, so take a closer look! Even better than the pics is the video that Peter Trends Bridal has on YouTube. The best bits about this dress - It's comfortable!! The bottom layer is a stretchy fabric which means that it moves well (so you can dance the night away) and clings to the right places softly, without constricting. Because of the french lace top layer, the dress is comfortable whilst maintaining that soft, flowy, feminine look.
The dress has a gorgeous train that falls just below the bottom. I had it bustled for my wedding, and the bustle lasted until the end of the night (pretty good with how much dancing we were doing). For me, the train was a great size as it drags behind you so you get that bridal feel but doesn't get in the way.
There is some beautiful detail on this dress that you don't really notice from a distance but up close you can see how beautiful it really is. There are lots of small hand-beaded pearls in different areas and the lace trimming on the bottom of the dress is lovely. See the close up pics for reference.

Condition - The dress has no stains, tears or any damage so I would say that it is in perfect condition. This is another amazing thing about this dress - how durable it is!

Contact - Please feel free to contact me about the dress if you are interested. I know that your wedding dress is an important decision so I'm happy to clarify or answer any other things I didn't think to write about. Also, I live in South-East Melbourne. I'm happy for you to come and try the dress on if you are serious about purchasing it.

As you will see from the photo of my Gown Purchase the dress was bought off the rack for $2,961AUD. Selling Price: $1000 ono.

Please note: The veil is not included. My sister has already claimed it for her big day.

Alterations

The only alterations I had to this dress were hemming and inserting bra cups (would fit B/C size).
This dress was hemmed to my height. I am 5'6" and was wearing shoes with a 5cm heel (I've put link for shoes I wore at the bottom of the page). As you can see in the photos the dress fell to the floor but was high enough that I didn't trip. So, if you are shorter than me you can have the dress hemmed further.

Size-wise I'm generally a 12 in bottoms and 10 in tops. If you are bigger or smaller than me alterations can be made to this dress. Your dress-maker will simply need to unpick the sides of the dress and customise it to fit your shape. The straps can also be adjusted to your size. I had bra cups sewn into the dress. Again, if you have a bigger OR smaller bosom, these can be taken out and changed to fit you.
